"Leaving Riverton" Workshops and Lectures

The 45-minute (can be shorter or longer) lecture will educate and entertain your group by hearing the stories of the nine main characters in the novel and seeing the quilts from the two books.
The “Leaving Riverton™” lecture is based from the threefold “Leaving Riverton™ collections, which includes the NOVEL, The PATTERN BOOK, and the FABRIC collection.
In creating this collection, a balancing act of the three was closely navigated, so that each one would intertwine and the release date would remain the same for the total collection, (which is a monstrous task!)
The nine quilts were constructed early 2003 from my private “stash” fabric in order to get the look and feel that could be written in the novel and pattern book. We have called these first quilts “rehearsal” quilts and then when the fabric arrived, we were able to re-make those quilts in the actual “Leaving Riverton” fabrics. Teams of talented seamstresses, working for two weeks, completed the quilts. We quickly took the photos and sent them to the graphics department for printing.
The rehearsal quilts and the Leaving Riverton quilts are shown in the trunk show. Also a quick demo of the Square in a Square® technique shows how easy these masterpieces can be constructed.
The lecture will excite, educate and motivate the viewers. This lecture is ideal for small or large groups.
